Kyle Busch to compete on off weekend

NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch will enter the TD Bank 250 Late Model event at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on July 24.

Busch will prepare for the main event by running the Pro All Star Series Super Late Model 150 race on the previous evening.

Busch is returning to the 3/8-mile oval for the first time since running in the event in 2005 and 2006. He led 70 laps of the 2005 event and had a straightaway lead before finishing sixth after making a late-race pit stop. In 2006, he was leading the feature before engine problems relegated him to a 22nd-place finish.

"It's no secret that I love to race, so I'll be spending my weekend off from the Sprint Cup Series in July running the Late Model races at Oxford Plains Speedway," said Busch. "The track is a lot of fun to drive. It's very flat, the corners are very round and the straightaways aren't very long.
