Kevin Harvick's tirade leads to changes on No. 4 pit crew

Kevin Harvick's well-publicized tirade after Sunday night's Bojangles' 500 has resulted in crew changes on the No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet for Saturday night's Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

Harvick, the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and 2015 runner-up, led a race-high 214 of 367 laps at Darlington but lost the race on pit road, where three bad stops cost him a total of 17 positions.

It was the fifth time this season that Harvick led at least 115 laps in a race but did not win.

And afterward, he was understandably upset.

"I'm over being a cheerleader," Harvick said of his crew. "Those guys get paid a lot of money to perform on pit road, and cheerleading hasn't really been working. You've got to get after it on pit road and do your job."

As a result, SHR is taking two of Danica Patrick's crew members and moving them to Harvick's car and taking two of Harvick's guys and moving them to Patrick's team.

Front-tire changer Eric Maycroft and front-tire carrier Matt Holzbaur will be working with Harvick this weekend at RIR, while his former front-tire changer Tim Sheets and front-tire carrier Todd Drakulich are now on Patrick's No. 10 Chevrolet.
