Kevin Harvick has no intention of leaving Stewart-Haas Racing
Kevin Harvick said Friday morning that he expects to remain with Stewart-Haas Racing next year, when the team switches from campaigning Chevrolets to Fords.
Harvick has raced Chevrolets his entire career and has had phenomenal success with SHR, winning the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship in 2014, his first season with the team, and finishing second last year.
Asked if he'd be back at SHR next year, Harvick said, "I don't see any reason why that wouldn't happen."
Given the success Harvick and crew chief Rodney Childers have enjoyed since coming to SHR, the sentiment is hardly surprising.
"For me I'm in the best position that I've been in with my team," Harvick said. "I feel like I have the best crew chief in the garage. It would be pretty tough to turn around and walk out on everybody who has been a part of building everything that we have built so far."
