Interstate Batteries hosts food drive as NASCAR rolls into home state

Dallas-based Interstate Batteries is the longest-tenured sponsor at Joe Gibbs Racing, dating back to the team’s first season way back in 1992.

Given their proximity to Texas Motor Speedway, it’s always big for Interstate when the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series arrives in the Lone Star State.

Thursday at Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas, Interstate Batteries hosted a food drive for the North Texas Food Bank as part of Interstate’s Driving for Good campaign.

The result was a huge success.

In just two hours, the food drive received 2,418 meals-worth of donations. Of those 2,418 meals, 800 came from canned items alone. The event drew hundreds of people to donate and to check out some Kyle Bush No. 18-wrapped Toyota Camrys.
