Earnhardt Ganassi sticks with Chevy

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing will continue its relationship with General Motors and Earnhardt Childress Racing Technologies.

At a lunch on Wednesday celebrating Jamie McMurray’s win at Charlotte Motor Speedway, employees were told of the decision. The organization had been courted by Ford Motor Co. for the 2011 season.

Team owner Chip Ganassi began his NASCAR venture under the Dodge banner. Juan Pablo Montoya’s victory at Infineon Raceway in 2007 ended a five-year winless drought for the organization.

In 2009, the merger with Teresa Earnhardt's Dale Earnhardt Inc. brought the Chevrolet partnership to the table. Since the transition to the Chevrolet brand, Earnhardt Ganassi Racing has won four races -- including NASCAR’s two most prestigious events, the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400.
