Michael McDowell hit the wall in the closing laps of Sunday's Can-Am 500 Chase for the Sprint Cup elimination race at Phoenix International Raceway.

Jimmie Johnson's crew chief, Chad Knaus, predicted the race would get exciting as it went into overtime.
