Backs against the wall: Can both Penske boys still get to Homestead?

There are three guys of the remaining Chase drivers who are in a pretty deep hole right now with only two races left to make the Championship Race at Homestead in three weeks. Of the three, I think it's a no-brainer that Joey Logano has the best opportunity to climb out of that hole.

His cars have been fast over the last four weeks. Actually, to be fair, Joey has had fast cars starting clear back in February in Daytona.

I don't think there's a racetrack out there that he and his team can't figure out right now. Joey has won at Texas before and I think Sunday will be a great opportunity for Joey to punch his ticket to be locked in with Jeff Gordon for the Homestead winner-take-all race.

Don't get me wrong; it's not going to be easy for Joey. I expect him to face a big challenge from Kevin Harvick, who has also been bad-fast at these mile-and-a-half tracks. Because of how well they are running right now, I give the edge to Joey this weekend at Texas and then give the edge to Kevin next weekend at Phoenix.

If I had to fly to Las Vegas tomorrow on one driver to pull himself out of a steep incline, I wouldn't put all of my money on Joey, though. I might save a little money and put it on his teammate, Brad Keselowski. Brad has shown us in the past that he's also been able to pull off some pretty phenomenal wins when his back has been up against the wall.
