Watch highlights from the full 2014-2015 Formula E season
From the time the lights went out in Beijing on Sept. 13 to the moment the checkered flag dropped in London on June 28, the inaugural FIA Formula E season was full of action.
Despite Nick Heidfeld’s scary flip at Beijing and the opening-lap multi-car pileup in Monaco, every driver and participant was able to walk away from the event without injury. The season also featured some great side-by-side and nose-to-tail action, with the championship not being decided until the final lap of the final race in London.
Here are highlights from all 11 races this season:
Round 1 – Beijing – Sept. 13
The inaugural FIA Formula E championship race was a success despite a scary crash for Venturi’s Nick Heidfeld.
Round 2 – Putrajaya – Nov. 22
Two early safety car periods created a bit of strategy and it was Britain’s Sam Bird who took the spoils.
Round 3 – Punta del Este – Dec. 13
Jean-Eric Vergne puts on an impressive run in his debut but it all falls apart at the end.
Round 4 – Buenos Aires – Jan. 10
Multiple top runners dropped out of the race handing over a surprise win to Antonio Felix da Costa.
Round 5 – Miami – March 14
Scott Speed made an impressive debut in second at his home race in the first ePrix without a safety car.
Round 6 – Long Beach – April 4
Nelson Piquet Jr. emulated his father, getting his inaugural win on the streets of Long Beach.
Round 7 – Monaco – May 9
In true Monaco fashion, the race started with a pileup yet still saw an epic chase for the lead throughout the event’s duration.
Round 8 – Berlin – May 23
Lucas di Grassi thought he had won the Berlin ePrix until he was later disqualified for having an illegally modified front wing.
Round 9 – Moscow – June 6
The championship heats up after some interesting pit road action on the streets of Moscow.
Round 10 – London – June 27
Sebastien Buemi secured a critical win on the streets of London just one day before the finale.
Round 11 – London – June 28
The inaugural FIA Formula E series champion is crowned after some late drama during the race.
