Video: Kvyat takes wild ride during F1 qualifying in Japan
Daniil Kvyat took a scary ride during qualifications for the Japanese GP at Suzuka International Racing Course.
Kvyat excaped uninjuried, telling the team he was all right over the radio immediately after the accident.
Kvyat clipped part of the grassy area, making him lose control and crash into the barriers, then flipping once before his race car finally came to a hault.
The 21-year-old Russian driver is in his first year with Infiniti Red Bull Racing, teaming up with Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo. Ricciardo is in his second season with the team.
Kvyat has had a successful season so far, scoring a podium finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix earlier this year, where he finished second to four-time Formula One world champion and Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel.
Kvyat is currently eighth in the championship standings with six races to go in the 2015 season, 13 points behind his teammate, Ricciardo, who sits in seventh.
