Texas Motor Speedway will honor police officers for the second part of the Verizon IndyCar Series’ Firestone 600 on Saturday, Aug. 27 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Police officers from across the land will be provided with free admission and general-admission seating to the race for themselves and a companion in “Back The Blue Night.” Texas Motor Speedway is extending this offer to all first responders. All officers will need to present their ID at the gate.

The Firestone 600 was initially set to take place on Saturday, June 11, but was postponed one day due to rain. However, the field only made it through 71 of 248 laps before it was suspended due to weather. James Hinchcliffe currently leads the race, which will be restarted at 8 p.m. CT on Aug. 27 from Lap 72.
