Simona de Silvestro to make Formula E debut at London ePrix

Simona de Silvestro will make her FIA Formula E debut on the June 27-28 weekend when the series heads to London for its season finale doubleheader.

The 26-year-old Swiss racing driver has 15 top 10 IndyCar series finishes to her name and also spent time as a test driver for the Sauber F1 team.

De Silvestro will join the Andretti Formula E team, a team that has already seen seven drivers race for them this season, with Jean-Eric Vergne and Justin Wilson behind the wheel at last weekend’s race in Moscow. De Silvestro will be racing in place of Justin Wilson while Vergne, who has not missed a Formula E race in 2015, currently sits seventh in the points.

De Silvestro has yet to test the Formula E car on track, but did get behind the wheel of the car earlier this year during a show run through the streets of Geneva, Switzerland.
