Ride onboard a Kawasaki motorcycle at 249 mph
The Kawasaki H2R is a very fast motorcycle.
How fast, however, had never actually been proven, as the 200-horsepower vehicle isn’t road legal and not all racetracks have a straight long enough for the bike to really show what it’s capable of.
So, Kawasaki decided to close off some public roads and called upon one of their racers - Kenan Sofuoglu - to see how fast he could go over a public bridge in Turkey.
The answer - as the more perceptive of you may have noticed in the headline - was 249 mph. But what’s even more impressive is that it only took the bike 26 seconds to reach that speed. Kawasaki had told Sofuoglu that the bike would max out at 236 mph.
Understandable, a lot of training, preparation and special equipment had gone into the event, but we’re not sure how much that would’ve helped if something had indeed gone wrong.
