Remembering the 12 wild rides of 2014
Beginning Tuesday, FOX Sports will begin counting down the 12 wild rides of 2015.
Here’s a refresher on the 12 craziest rides from last season:
No. 12: Rally driver survives crash over 360-foot jump
In June 2014, GoPro released footage of Guerlain Chicherit's massive crash that took place back in March of the same year when the French rally car driver was attempting a record-setting jump in Tignes, France. The brutal slam and ensuing end-over-end tumble takes place 7:30 into the video. Chicherit suffered only minor injuries.
No. 11: GP3 car believes it can fly
Russian race car driver Konstantin Tereshchenko had a scary moment during practice for a GP3 series race at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, when his car went airborne, rolled and then caught fire. Fortunately the Trident Racing driver was able to climb from the incident completely unharmed.
No. 10: Driver OK after tire blows in Eau Rouge
Marcello Marateotto had a frightening ride in a Radical euromasters race in Sept. 2014, after a tire failure led to a crash exiting the infamous Eau Rouge corner on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Marateotto was reportedly OK after his Radical flew into the catchfencing.
No. 9: Rider drops 185 feet on a bike
Robbie "Maddo" Maddison broke yet another world record after riding his KTM 450SX-F down a ski jump at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah, home of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games. Maddison took off at 71 mph and dropped a record-breaking 185 feet before coming to a land.
No. 8: Drag racer recovers after flipping 14 times
It may have been a few years since Jerry Yeoman had this terrifying crash at Wichita International Raceway, but when the video was released in Oct. of 2014, it still managed to take our breath away.
No. 7: Driver takes flight in first ever Formula E race
The inaugural Formula E race at Beijing in 2014 featured a shocking finish involving Nico Prost - son of four-time Formula One champion Alain Prost - and ex-Formula One driver Nick Heidfeld. Both drivers were able to walk out OK.
No. 6: Flipping rally car nearly hits spectators
Driver Piero Scavone and navigator Diego D'Herin were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries, and one of the fans was treated for shock after this spectacular crash during the 2014 Jolly Rally Valle d'Aosta in the Aosta Valley, Italy.
No. 5: CEO sits in bulletproof Mercedes as it gets shot by an AK-47
Texas Armoring Corporation (TAC) is a supplier of bulletproof vehicles based out of San Antonio, TX. In a video released in Nov. 2014, the company's CEO Trent Kimball brings product testing to a whole new level as he sits inside one of TAC's bullet-proof Mercedes-Benz SUV's while it's being shot at by Lawrence Kosub with an AK-47.
No. 4: Semi jumps 83 feet over moving F1 car
Professional stunt driver Mike Ryan jumped 83 feet and seven inches over a moving F1 car, driven by stunt driver Martin Ivanov, as part of a commercial for the team's sponsor, EMC technologies.
No. 3: Flagman ducks to avoid flying sprint car
In the Aug. 8, 2014, USAC Sprint Car race at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif., flagman Keith Trusso's night took an unexpected turn when the car of Scott Hall abruptly came flying up into the starter's stand. Trusso ducks to avoid the airborne car and then walks down to assist safety workers in getting the machine back in its rightful place.

Kelly Harvey was able to walk away with only minor injuries after a crash in his ’55 Chevy in the Colorado Street Outlaws event at Pikes Peak International Raceway. His car rolled four times, narrowly missing the Chevy Camaro just a few feet ahead of it in the next lane, finally landing right side up, but with Harvey’s legs sticking out of the busted windshield.
No. 1: Driver survives crash with two trucks
Look before you leap, or change lanes. A driver in Belgium learned that lesson the hard way when she crossed two lanes to make an exit, passed a tractor trailer, and crashed into another standing still in traffic in the right lane. Amazingly, she survived, and suffered only two broken vertebrae and a broken hand.
