Race for the lead turns into demolition derby at Bowman Gray Stadium

There was plenty of racing action going on last Saturday at the Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The quarter-mile flat oval has become infamous for its history of having brawls and battles between drivers at “The Madhouse,” and - to that regards - last weekend did not disappoint.

A video uploaded by Chris Weaver shows what went down in one of the Sportsman (no, really) races of the night as the No. 68 of Robbie Brewer gets into the back of the No. 4 of John Holloman heading into Turn 1 on a late restart.

Holloman was less than impressed, and announced over the radio that the “68 ain’t going to win this race.”

Under the pace car, Holloman was able to catch up to the back of Brewer, who was instructed by his team to get as close to the pace car as possible to try and stop Holloman from getting into him under the caution.

It didn’t work.

Holloman turns Brewer into the wall on the front straight under the yellow. Now, it was Brewer’s turn to retaliate, as he accelerated into the infield and slammed into the side of Holloman’s car.

Just another night at “The Madhouse.”
