DETROIT (AP) Indy Lights champion Spencer Pigot is joining Ed Carpenter Racing and will drive the No. 20 car for the rest of the road and street course events on this year's IndyCar schedule.
ECR announced the move Thursday, with two races coming up this weekend at Belle Isle's street course in Detroit. Pigot was last year's Indy Lights champion.
Team owner Ed Carpenter drives the No. 20 in oval events.
The 22-year-old Pigot made his IndyCar debut with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing on March 13 in St. Petersburg, Florida, finishing 14th. He also competed in the Grand Prix of Indianapolis last month and in last weekend's Indianapolis 500.
