Jay Penske has struck a deal to use Chevrolet engines for his two drivers at the Indianapolis 500, ending an ugly dispute with Lotus.

Dragon Racing agreed to drop a $4.6 million lawsuit against Lotus in exchange for being released from its contract with the engine manufacturer that has struggled all season.

The move comes just in time to get Sebastien Bourdais and Katherine Legge, Penske's drivers, track time before series officials add a power boost to the engines Friday. Qualifying begins Saturday. The 500 is scheduled for May 27.

Penske says the engines powering his team were originally assigned to Ed Carpenter's second entry, which has no driver. Dragon Racing has no backup engine.
