Simona de Silvestro will have a new and hopefully improved Lotus engine this weekend at Toronto.
De Silvestro was at Mid-Ohio for testing this week, though she didn't get any time with the new engine. Lotus has added upgrades approved by IndyCar to help the struggling manufacturer.
De Silvestro says she believes it will be another month before HVM Racing sees any on-track benefits. She has finished only three of the nine races so far this season and was black-flagged after 10 laps in the Indianapolis 500 because the Lotus cars were too slow.
She says she's learned a lot this season, particularly about engines, but it's been frustrating to be uncompetitive.
