Formula One cars are generally regarded as some of the most fragile machines in the world.

Although they’re also regarded as some of the safest machines in the world - with just one driver fatality in the past 21 years at a World Championship event - any slight contact in a Formula One race usually results in an instant race retirement.

However, as demonstrated by none other than the defending F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, F1 cars are actually much tougher than we think:

Yes, you heard right. That’s the car Hamilton won the title with at the 2014 season-finale at Abu Dhabi in a championship showdown with his teammate Nico Rosberg.
