Lady Gaga to perform at New Delhi GP
American pop sensation Lady Gaga has been signed up to play at India's inaugural Formula One race next month, which will be held at a newly-built circuit outside the capital New Delhi.
The colorful diva will perform at a concert after the Indian Grand Prix on Oct. 30, organizers said Saturday.
US heavy metal outfit Metallica are also slated to play at an "F1 Rocks" gig in the satellite town of Gurgaon on Oct. 28 as a lead-up to the race.
"Formula One fans will be able to participate in a spectacle of performance from internationally acclaimed artists who are traveling to India for the event," race organizers Jaypee Sports International said. "Pop legend Lady Gaga will mark the closing of the ceremony."
Tickets for the race have been priced between 2,500 rupees ($50) and 35,000 rupees.
Organizers say they have sold 20,000 of the 100,000 race tickets so far, with the cheapest seats all sold out.
