As Jorge Lorenzo climbs the ladder as one of the all time winningest riders of MotoGP he could easily add to his stunning record at the British Grand Prix this Sunday.
Silverstone is a happy hunting ground for the speedy Spaniard, who has won three of past five races at the circuit.
After his sublime win in last week's Czech GP Lorenzo has 38 career MotoGP race wins.
This puts him level with Australian ace Casey Stoner and one ahead of the legendary Mike Hailwood.
Only three riders in the history of grand prix racing -- Valentino Rossi (85), Giacomo Agostini (68) and Mick Doohan (54) -- have won more premier class races than Lorenzo and Stoner.
Lorenzo's superiority at Silverstone is also set to apply the pressure to his Yamaha teammate Rossi as they engage in an all Yamaha fight for the world championship.
Lorenzo and Rossi are level on 211 points after 11 races, with Lorenzo ahead based on his 5-3 race win advantage over Rossi this season. Honda rival Marc Marquez is a distant 52 points behind in third.
In an epic battle in this race last year, Lorenzo lost out to Marquez by just 0.7 seconds. Rossi was third in 2014, his only appearance on the podium since MotoGP returned to Silverstone.
Twice world champion Lorenzo has won at this circuit, which is based on a former military airfield, in 2010, 2012 and 2013.
"Silverstone is one of my favorite tracks and I won here the first time when we came back in 2010," Lorenzo said.
"In 2012 I remember I won after taking back some places in the race. And my win in 2013 after a big battle with Marc was one of the more emotional victories in my career. And then last year I fought until the very end for the victory when I came second and it was a good fight."
Lorenzo, 28, is tied for fourth on the all-time MotoGP race win list.
