Dennis Erickson was 69 years old when he died in his sleep in 2015.

With no wife, children, or siblings, Erickson chose to donate his house and its contents to the Celebration Church in Lakeville, Minnesota upon his death. Erickson had been a longtime usher for the church.

However, as reported by KARE, the church’s chief financial officer Lisa Lundstrom was “overwhelmed” when she first entered the house.

Erickson had been collecting model cars since he was nine years old. 60 years later, and model cars were still rolling in on his doorstep even after his death.

All in all, Erickson had over 30,000 cars inside his house, one for more than each day he had lived.

Erickson had been living in the house his whole life. It had been his parents house and, being an only child, Erickson had had it to himself since their passing.

Lundstrom had been named the executor of Erickson’s estate, and is still trying to figure out how to best go about selling the cars. She estimates that the collection could reach into the six figures, with most of the proceeds going to the church.
