The talk in the paddock ever since Formula 1 left Silverstone last Sunday has been over the 'FRIC' system and whether it will be banned prior to the upcoming German GP.

Whether it will or not remains a mystery, and talk is that the dominant Mercedes W05 Hybrid may be the car that suffers most if the system is deemed illegal. However, as far as the Silver Arrows crew is concerned, its business as usual as they get set for the team's home Grand Prix.

"Hockenheim is the home Grand Prix for Mercedes-Benz, so it's important for the team and important for me," said Hamilton, coming off a win at his home Grand Prix in Silverstone.

"Hopefully, Mercedes-Benz power will put us in front down the long straight," added Hamilton, after testing in the Mercedes-Benz race simulator. Hamilton won the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim in 2008.

"Hockenheim is a very crucial race for all of us," says points leader Nico Rosberg.  "Mercedes home Grand Prix, my second home Grand Prix, it's actually the track I've won most races at.

"In every category I've raced in I've won there, so it suits me well and maybe I can repeat that with the F1 car sometime soon."

Currently, Rosberg has never finished higher than eighth at the Hockenheim circuit in Formula 1.

One major point of issue between the two teammates this season has been the differing pit strategies issued by the team which, many believe, has been favoring German driver Nico Rosberg.

Consequently, Italy's Autosprint now reports that Mercedes is going to begin limiting its drivers to similar pit strategies in order to demonstrate absolute equality between the pair.

Rosberg leads Hamilton by four points heading into Sunday's race.
