F1: Drivers ranked by Euro paid per point scored

Earlier this year, Business Book GP published salary estimates of each F1 driver, which were published in the Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo and listed on Crash.net.

Now, BleacherReport.com has taken those estimates and divided them by the amount of points each driver scored.

The numbers listed below are in Euros. The current exchange rate is around $1.10 USD for one Euro.

The higher up a driver is on the list, the more overpaid he could be considered (although in this rate, McLaren’s driver talent has far exceeded the car’s performance) whereas drivers towards the bottom of the list, who could be considered underpaid, are all rookies and had a lot to prove before they can begin bargaining:

Euros paid per point scored:

Fernando Alonso: €3,181,818 (€35M - 11 points)
Jenson Button: €625,000 (€10M - 16 points)
Pastor Maldonado: €148,148 (€4M - 27 points)
Kimi Raikkonen: €120,000 (€18M - 150 points)
Sebastian Vettel: €100,719 (€28M - 278 points)
Romain Grosjean: €78,431 (€4M - 51 points)
Nico Hulkenberg: €68,966 (€4M - 58 points)
Lewis Hamilton: €65,616 (€25M - 381 points)
Sergio Perez: €51,282 (€4M - 78 points)
Nico Rosberg: €41,925 (€13.5M - 322 points)

Not included in the list above are Manor Marussia drivers Will Stevens, Roberto Merhi and Alexander Rossi, who were unable to score any points. Stevens was paid €150,000 while Merhi was paid €50,000. Rossi only raced for five races during the 19-race season.
