If you follow motor racing long enough, you will see some pretty impressive barrel-rolls that drivers are able to walk away from.

However, this crash on a public road in Deland, Florida, on Saturday, outdoes a lot of them. Incredibly, this driver survived despite not having the safety equipment - such as a helmet or a rollcage - that you would see at a racetrack.

According to WESH 2, this was made possible thanks to several Good Samaritans who helped put a fire out on the car. They also flipped the vehicle back on its wheels and hoisted the driver through the vehicle’s sunroof. However, it is not always advised to flip a car back onto its wheels after a crash such as this, in case the driver has spinal injuries.

The driver was airlifted to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford. No one else was injured in the incident.

The incident is under investigation. The vehicle had reportedly hit a mailbox and some ATVs at a scooter store before the flip.
