We see it happen in open-wheel racing a lot. Two drivers make wheel-to-wheel contact in a turn and the driver on the outside rolls side-over-side until coming to a rest.
However, Enzo Bortoleto’s No. 85 Double R Racing car decided to take a different way out of the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship Race 2 at Rockingham in England last weekend. The Brazilian’s car decided it preferred to flip end-over-end after contact with a competitor on the opening lap.
The incident, which took place at Chapman Curve, brought out the red flag. Fortunately, Bortoleto was OK, the race was resumed and Thomas Randle went on to take the win.
