Cameron, Curran win TUDOR race, safety worker hospitalized

DETROIT (AP) Dane Cameron and Eric Curran won the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship race at Belle Isle on Saturday.

Cameron finished in the No. 31 Corvette Daytona Prototype. A safety worker was taken to the hospital after an accident at the end of the race that involved several cars and a safety truck.

Renger van der Zande and Mirco Schultis were the top finishers in Prototype Challenge in the No. 8 ORECA FLM09. Christopher Haase and Dion von Moltke topped the field in GT Daytona in the No. 48 Audi R8 LMS.

GT Daytona driver Jan Heylen was evaluated and released after an accident at the end of the race that involved several cars, including one that crashed into a safety truck that was on the track. One safety worker was hospitalized and was being kept overnight for observation. Another safety worker was evaluated and released from the infield care center.
