Matias Laba scored his first Major League Soccer goal in the second minute as Toronto FC held off the New England Revolution 1-0 Sunday.

Laba, a native of Argentina playing in his first MLS season, beat a trio of New England defenders to score. After stealing the ball from New England defender Jose Goncalves, he turned Revolution defender Stephen McCarthy around atop the right corner of the box and then fired a shot that was blocked by New England defender Scott Caldwell.

Laba gathered the rebound and nudged the ball past a sliding New England defender Andrew Farrell.

Toronto won its second straight match after going winless in its previous six.

The victory was just the second for Toronto in New England in 11 trips.
