Toronto FC extended its unbeaten streak to four games by holding midfielder David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy to a scoreless draw on Wednesday night.
It was Beckham's first game in Toronto since the 2008 MLS All-Star game.
The Galaxy captain unveiled one of his famous free kicks in the 70th minute.
Beckham curled the ball around the Toronto wall, but sent it off the post to the left of goalkeeper Stefan Frei. Toronto substitute Joao Plata had a great chance late in the second half, but his header off a free kick was stopped by Donovan Ricketts.
Los Angeles (2-1-3) controlled the play early on with midfielder Sean Franklin testing Frei in the opening minute. Franklin had a chance from just inside the box, but Frei went to his left to make the save.
