Brazilian star forward Robinho will miss Saturday's opening of Red Bull Arena with a minor injury that caused him to skip the trip for the exhibition game.

Robinho sustained a thigh injury Sunday during Santos' 4-3 loss to Palmeiras in the Sao Paulo state championship. Santos' roster includes 18-year-old sensation Neymar, who scored for Santos last weekend.

The $200 million, 25,000-seat soccer-specific stadium is scheduled for its first league match March 27, when the Red Bulls host Chicago, but players have threatened a strike next week ahead of the Major League Soccer opener on Thursday, when Philadelphia is at Seattle.

Players and management negotiators met for a second straight day Friday in Washington, D.C.
