Brian Nielsen, a 23-year-old midfielder who has played for Denmark's youth national teams, has joined Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls on loan from Denmark's Vejle.
Nielsen was with Akademisk Boldklub from 2004-05, then transferred in September 2005 to Vejle, where he was a teammate of Salou Ibrahim, who signed with New York last week.
He had a trial with Germany's Schalke in December.
The international transfer deadline for MLS was 1 a.m. EDT Friday.
