The president of the Chicago Fire soccer club is stepping down.
Chicago Fire owner Andrew Hauptman announced the departure of Julian Posada on Wednesday in a letter on the soccer team's website. Hauptman says the club won't replace Posada. He says Posada's duties will be taken over by other staff.
Hauptman says Posada is leaving to ''pursue other opportunities.'' Posada will continue working for the Fire as a consultant in 2013. He held the job as president for more than two years.
The Chicago Fire team is a member of Major League Soccer.
