The Vancouver Whitecaps and Portland Timbers will find some big-name players available when they take part in Wednesday's MLS expansion draft.

Chicago's Freddie Ljungberg, New York's Juan Pablo Angel and Toronto's Julian de Guzman were among the players made available by the 16 existing teams.

The Timbers, who have the first pick, and Whitecaps will each select 10 players during the 10-round draft.

Each existing team was allowed to protect 11 players from their 2010 roster. Certain youth players and so-called designated players with a no-trade clause in their contract had to be protected.
