Brek Shea scored twice within a two-minute span in the second half to send FC Dallas to the World Cup break with a 2-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday in Major League Soccer.
Shea opened the scoring in the 58th minute after Heath Pearce sent a volley to David Ferreira, who dribbled around Chris Wondolowski and then tapped a pass from the goal line to Shea.
Shea sealed the win in the 60th minute when he raced past Earthquakes defender Chris Leitch and fired a right-footed shot into an empty net from 12 yards (meters) out.
In other MLS matches, Seth Stammler scored in the 27th minute to give New York Red Bulls a 1-0 win over Chivas USA, Jovan Kirvoski scored twice to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy past the Houston Dynamo 4-1, and Drew Moor scored in the 85th to lead the Colorado rapids past Columbus Crew 1-0.
Defender Leo Gonzalez scored his first MLS goal and set up another as the Seattle Sounders downed the New England Revolution 3-0, and Bosnian midfielder Baggio Husidic and Marco Pappa of Guatamala both scored to lead the Chicago Fire past the Philadelphia 2-1.
The Washington Wizards and Toronto FC played out a scoreless draw, as did Real Salt Lake and D.C. United.
Tristan Bowen and Alex Cazumba also scored for Los Angeles, while Houston's Cam Weaver scored his first goal of the season in the 7th minute.
Husidic scored in the 14th minute and Pappa extended the lead in the 74th for Chicago. Danny Mwanga of Congo scored for Philadelphia in second-half stoppage time.
