LA Galaxy F Barrett to miss MLS Cup with injury
Los Angeles Galaxy forward Chad Barrett will miss the MLS Cup next week after dislocating his right ankle in training.
Barrett was hurt Thursday. He was the Galaxy's second-leading goal-scorer in the regular season.
The Galaxy will face the Houston Dynamo at Home Depot Center in Carson on Nov. 20.
Los Angeles acquired the former UCLA star in a trade with Toronto FC before the season. Barrett had seven goals and five assists during the regular season before starting each of the Galaxy's three postseason games.
Barrett was a strong partner for new Galaxy striker Robbie Keane, who is expected to play in the MLS Cup after duty with the Irish national team.
Landon Donovan, Los Angeles' top goal-scorer, skipped U.S. national team duty this week to prepare for the MLS Cup.
