Goalkeeper Tally Hall stopped seven shots for Houston in the Dynamo's 0-0 tie with the Colorado Rapids on Sunday night.

He made two big saves in the final 10 minutes to preserve the tie and get his third shutout of the season.

''These are the games a goalkeeper looks forward to playing,'' Hall said. ''Every shot can mean the difference between winning or costing your team the game.''

Hall leaped to tip Drew Moor's shot over the crossbar in the 80th minute. A moment later he blocked Quincy Amarikwa's shot from close range.

''The save on Moor was easier than it looked,'' Hall said. ''The next shot was tougher because of his speed.''

The Dynamo are 0-3-6 away from Houston. They didn't trouble Colorado goalkeeper Matt Pickens, who got a clean sheet without having to make a stop.

''Tally had a big game and you need your goalkeeper to be in charge in a shutout,'' Houston coach Dominic Kinnear said. ''Overall, we made some mistakes, but we avoided the big one.''

Colorado played the game without Conor Casey. The team's leading scorer served a red card suspension.

The Rapids had four scoring chances in the first half. The best came in the ninth minute when a header by Jamie Smith hit the left post. Hall scooped up Kosuke Kimura's dribbler from the slot in the 13th minute.

Smith sent a free kick into Hall's chest from 30 yards out in the 40th minute. Hall denied the Rapids again in the 44th minute, taking the ball off the left foot of Rapids forward Caleb Folan to the left of the crease.

''We just can't seem to get everything in place,'' Smith said. ''It will come together. It's going to come together.''
