Landon Donovan has tied Jeff Cunningham's career goals record in Major League Soccer with two first-half scores during the Los Angeles Galaxy's 5-0 victory over Chivas USA on Sunday.

Donovan scored twice in the first 41 minutes Sunday against Chivas USA, giving him 134 career MLS regular-season goals.

Donovan passed second-place Jaime Moreno (133) and pulled even with Cunningham, who played for five MLS teams in a 14-year career.

Midfielder Gyasi Zardes made a sharp run down the left side to put a pass on Donovan's foot in the 23rd minute. Donovan then used his speed in the 41st and put a beautiful chip shot over Chivas goalie Dan Kennedy.

The 31-year-old Donovan is widely considered the best player in American history. He has won three of his five MLS Cup titles with the Galaxy.
