D.C. United goalie Josh Wicks is expected to be sidelined for four to six months after having surgery on his left shoulder.

He was hurt when he collided with another player during a 2-1 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes on Sept. 27.

Wicks joined United at the start of the season and started 19 games, with a 1.40 goals-against average and five shutouts.
