Charlie Davies scored his MLS-leading sixth goal and added an assist to lead D.C. United to a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday night.
Brad Evans scored on a penalty kick in the 71st minute to cut the deficit in half for Seattle, which hadn't lost since starting the season 0-2. Evans' goal came after Fredy Montero drew a penalty for tangling with D.C.'s Dejan Jakovic.
United's Bill Hamid made two crucial saves late in the game, tipping Alvaro Fernandez's free header over the crossbar in the 73rd minute and diving left to stop Montero in the 76th.
