Bernardo Anor had a goal and an assist in his first career start for Columbus and the Crew defeated the Houston Dynamo 2-0 on Saturday night.

It was Columbus' second win in its past three matches.

Anor put the game away in the 77th minute on a goal off a rebound of his own shot. He got a pass from Tommy Heinemann on the left box, but his shot for the far post was saved by Houston's Tally Hall.

Hall couldn't control the ball, and it bounced back to Anor. He shot it into the upper right corner, just inside the far post to make it 2-0.

Andres Mendoza gave Columbus (5-4-6) a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute. Mendoza got a forwarding pass from Anor, had a short breakaway and nailed a shot inside the near post.

The Dynamo (4-6-6) had two chances to score in the 60th minute, but a Will Bruin breakaway shot from the left box was batted out by Columbus goalkeeper William Hesmer.

The rebound by Colin Clark from the top of the box was also batted out by Hesmer, who finished with four saves.

Houston played the final 38 minutes a man down after Lovel Palmer was issued his second yellow card in the 52nd minute for a hard tackle on Anor after being issued a yellow in first half stoppage time for another tackle.
