Emilio Renteria and Brian Carroll scored to keep Columbus ahead of New York in MLS with a 2-0 win over the Red Bulls on Saturday night.

New York's Thierry Henry watched from a suite because he's not ready to play yet. He's expected to debut in an exhibition against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

Renteria ended the Crew's 245-minute scoreless streak in the 20th minute on a counter following Carroll's takeaway from Juan Pablo Angel at midfield. Carroll scored his first goal since Aug. 16, 2008, in the 48th minute with a strike from 25 yards.

Columbus ended New York's five-game MLS unbeaten streak and moved to 31 points, five ahead of the Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference.
