Young fan dons beard in honor of Pedro Alvarez, goes nuts after HR

Kids will do a lot of things to be like their big-league heroes. Some might wear a replica game jersey. Others might mimic their batting stance or wear their baseball pants a certain way.

This Pittsburgh Pirates fan chose his own way to honor Pirates slugger Pedro Alvarez. He grew a beard. Well, OK, he didn't really grow a beard, but he did use what appears to be a black magic marker to make himself look a like a mini-me Pedro Alvarez.

The youngster's efforts were rewarded when Alvarez smashed a home run Sunday to help the Pirates beat the San Francisco Giants.

Just watch the little fellow celebrate. He's clearly ready for the postseason.
