NEW YORK (AP) Left-hander Jose De Paula has agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Yankees after spending 2014 with San Francisco's Triple-A team.

He would get paid at a rate of $510,000 while in the major leagues and $150,000 while in the minors. De Paula is guaranteed $75,000.

The 26-year-old went 4-3 with a 4.21 ERA in 10 starts and six relief appearances for Fresno of the Pacific Coast League, striking out 41 in 51 1-3 innings.

He spent seven years with the San Diego Padres organization, never reaching the majors, then was claimed off waivers by the Giants last Nov. 27. He pitched in winter ball this year for the Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican Baseball League.
