White Sox scratch Jones

Published Aug. 12, 2010 12:15 a.m. ET

Andruw Jones was scratched from the White Sox lineup against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday because of a sore back, while Gordon Beckham returned after missing two games.

Jones was scheduled to bat eighth and play right field. Omar Vizquel took his spot in the order and played third with Dayan Viciedo moving to DH and Carlos Quentin going to right.

Beckham was back in the lineup, batting ninth and playing second, for the first time since he left Sunday's game against Baltimore with a strained groin.

He was still a little sore from working out Tuesday but ''definitely good to go.'' The injury does not affect his swing, although he feels it moving side to side.
