The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder and leadoff hitter Alejandro De Aza on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with bruised left ribs and recalled outfielder Jordan Danks from Triple-A Charlotte.

De Aza is hitting .281 with six home runs, 44 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in 111 games this season.

Danks batted .265 with one homer and three RBIs in 29 games with the White Sox from June 7-August 12 before being optioned to Charlotte. He hit his first major league home run on Aug. 10 vs. Oakland, a game-ending solo shot in the ninth inning to give the Sox a 4-3 victory.

Dewayne Wise has taken over in center field for the White Sox in De Aza's absence.
