White Sox avoid arbitration with Brett Lawrie, Dan Jennings

On Thursday, the Chicago White Sox announced that they have signed Dan Jennings and Brett Lawrie to one-year deals, avoiding arbirtation:

Jennings was a decent middle-innings reliever in 2015, going 2-3 with a 3.99 ERA across 53 games in his first season with the White Sox. The 28-year-old was stellar in 2014, however, owning a 1.34 ERA in 47 games for the Miami Marlins.

The White Sox acquired Lawrie this offseason in a trade with the Oakland Athletics -- 2014 was his first and only season in Oakland, hitting .260/.299/.407. He will likely transition to second base full time after the White Sox acquired Todd Frazier from the Reds. Lawrie, who will turn 26 on January 18, spent the first four seasons of his career in Toronto, batting .265/.323/.426 in his time there.
