Webb called up as Padres place Gallagher on DL

The San Diego Padres recalled right-hander Ryan Webb from Triple-A Portland on Tuesday and placed reliever Sean Gallagher on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained toe on his left foot.

Webb pitched in 28 games last season with San Diego, going 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA in relief. He saved one game for Portland this year and allowed no runs over 10 innings in his nine relief appearances.

Gallagher has appeared in nine games this season, all in relief, posting a 6.92 ERA.
