WATCH: Cubs catcher Ross mouths off from the dugout, gets tossed

Published Jul. 21, 2015 11:24 a.m. ET

Cubs catcher David Ross wasn't pleased with home plate umpire Paul Schrieber during Monday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Thing is, Ross wasn't even playing. He got infuriated from the dugout while Dexter Fowler was at the plate. Ross was screaming from the dugout, Schrieber told him to hush up, Ross responded and then got the hook.

The video shows the outburst, and you don't even have to be a lipreader to decipher what Ross said, because it's clearly audible: "You can't tell me to shut up. I can say [expletive]. You can't tell me to shut up!"

Apparently he can.
