Vin Scully explains what he'll miss the most about baseball

Published May. 10, 2016 3:10 p.m. ET

It took Los Angeles Dodgers legend 67 seasons behind a microphone, but he finally landed the cover of Sports Illustrated

Scully, who called his first Dodgers game in 1950 (back when the team was still in Brooklyn), announced last year that the 2016 season will be his last as the voice of the Dodgers. Scully is beloved baseball fans and his fellow broadcasters - and at 88 years old, Scully says he's still afraid he might fail, which drives him to prepare as if he'd just started the job.

What will Scully miss the most about the job? It's the sound of baseball fans reacting to a big play.
