Phillies second baseman Chase Utley is symptom-free and cleared to exercise following a concussion sustained Wednesday when he was hit in the head by a pitch.
The Phillies plan for Utley to workout on Saturday and Sunday and undergo additional impact testing on Monday before another doctor's visit.
Utley was initially foggy in the aftermath of being hit by Braves reliever Eric O'Flaherty. Phillies assistant general manager Scott Proefrock says Utley has been without symptoms since, but is not expected to rejoin the team in Houston.
Proefrock says Utley's progress has been ''very positive'' and the team plans to be cautious with the five-time All-Star.
