ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Minnesota Twins center fielder Byron Buxton was injured after crashing into the outfield wall in the first inning Friday night.
The ball hit by Texas' Rougned Odor clipped off the edge of Buxton's glove and the bill of his cap before he ran into the padded wall. The impact broke his sunglasses into multiple pieces.
Buxton was eventually taken off the field on a motorized cart, climbing into the front seat with help and without putting any pressure on his right leg.
Buxton was initially slow getting up, but went back toward his position before manager Paul Molitor went out on the field with a trainer.
